"Your life only ends where you choose to put the period." ~ Marya

The dark and the silence filling my head

And soon replaced with the thoughts that misled

Led me to the cracks and the creaks of the nonexistent presence

Looking every which way to see what doesn’t

What doesn’t appear and what doesn’t exist

And what most certainly only exists in the back of my head

My head scares me away back under the covers

Protecting me from what lies near the others

The others that tuck themselves away in the back of my mind

Revealing themselves once I find myself fine

By myself, I’m left with my thoughts

The ones that manipulate my mind into seeing what’s not

Manipulate me into being afraid of what is just being played

Played like a movie until once comforted again by the cure of the thoughts in my head

The author's comments:

When I'm by myself or if I feel alone I become afraid of every sound that fills my head. I tend to think things that scare me back into my bed. This poem is about how my thoughts manipulate me when I'm alone or when I feel alone. If you ever feel alone don't hesitate to reach out to someone because you need someone to cure the thoughts in your head.

The matter discussed through your beautiful poem is really relatable...I just felt somewhat relieved when I read it because I realised that this is not an illness but something that many face...
