Memory Maelstrom
Encapsulated by time:
Past, present, and future
They amble,
Listlessly,
Spilling hopes and wishes
Through a deluge
Of memory-ridden tears.
They are the nameless souls,
Vagrants searching for solace,
Prancing on stones,
Numbering the days
That whisk by.
A lull beckons them to the sea,
The soft, hushing murmurs
of the Oneiroi,
The beguiling, sweet melody
of the Sirens.
Swaddled by silk-laden fabrics,
Their lemon-wept tears are
blotted,
Their endless cries
muffled.
They descend into
a whirling maelstrom
of departed memories.
The tides swallow their bodies,
Which now lie in a
perpetual dream
