somber golden words

trace the slope of your smile

etching themselves

in my cranium

yellow yellow

beams of light

a gash; a wound

pressed sharp

like the palm of your hand on my

cheek. A comfort

of sort

An infection.

softly mumble your divine

graces

in exaltation to the sun

your gentle neck bared

as your amber arms (like wings) flutter

around my shoulders

holding me to your chest

Solitary.

shoulder blades tightly wound

like the strings of a piano

humming

buzzing

when you pluck them

a hymn; a psalm

a morning lullaby

keening praises and glory as you

fall to the ground

still holding me

you were carved from citrine and sandstone

a topaz gem your eye

it gleamed and winked

rapturous glow

a bond; a promise

wicked amusement of all

foul things

you stare like

you could envelop my world

and whisper it sweet nothings for eternity

I shiver under your touch

effervescent

the taste of summer

lemon drops and

liquid mercury

your hair fine flaxen I

bury my tears in

and sob.

tell me your wishes

your desire; your heart

in the pale stripes of

light

teach me your golden contraptions and

machinations

smile with your teeth

into my skin

sink

as you comfort me

breathe faintly

a warm wind

so I may feel you

and your kingdom

everywhere I roam.
