i had a premonition i was going to die today

and then i took a drive in a thunderstorm

maybe i was asking for it

or maybe i wanted to go in peace

and have the rain wash over me sweetly

let the worms and drenched animals have my body

but tonight electricity has other plans

it ignites my anxieties

voltaic anger grips the wheel

lightning fear paralyzes my face

and i breathe no deeper than a sandbar

oceans toss me around but thunder shocks me

the sky illuminating shouts to me,

where have your prayers been

and i don’t have an answer

so i hold on a little tighter

and my voice remains a fog
