''She remembered who she was and the game changed-" Lalah Delia

A little girl takes a seat on the train,

Quietly taking in the world before her,

The world she was told she would take over.

She was told that the world does not have a place for people who are like her.

That her kind heart would be crushed by the weight of the world on her shoulders,

That her quiet voice would be drowned out by the chaos of the world.

So she sits in silence,

As the world passes her by,

New people, almost like new worlds being discovered.

A fiancé whose face falls as the girl he loves rejects his proposal.

A man whose tired eyes flood with tears as he holds his letter of dismissal.

A woman who takes off her shoes to massage her blistered feet after a long day of work.

All these people who feel as though the world has forgotten their pain.

A teenage girl takes a seat on the train,

Quietly taking in the world before her,

The world they keep telling her needs her help to be saved.

So she sits in silence,

And gets to know the people of the world she will one day save,

Though she is unsure how.

A little girl cries silently like a girl who has experienced the pain of the world at an early age.

An old man sits by her, confusion in his teary eyes, registering the world through new eyes.

A young lady sits, music blasting through her headphones, her sketch pad in her lap, tears streaming down her face.

She gives them each a rose,

And a tissue to wipe their tears.

She reminds them that the sun will come out tomorrow.

She will not forget their stories.

A young woman takes a seat on the train,

Quietly taking in the world before her,

The world that is now hers.

She has learned to be prepared.

She has a bouquet of roses on her lap,

And a box of tissues beside her.

Sometimes the world is too chaotic,

That we cannot contribute more noise.

We must be quiet and listen to the trauma of others.

A young woman holds her baby and looks at her like her heart is bursting.

An old man talks to his daughter on the phone and laughs a laugh that absorbs him.

A young boy discovers himself in his sketch pad and looks as though he will be transformed forever.

The world is just a little bit brighter today.
