A single stroke of a pen
One single stroke of a pen,
Could end a fatal war,
Warm the heart of someone you love,
Sign a law to help those in need,
Even I have learned throughout heartache and pain,
I could have done it all with a single ounce of fame,
And who will hear me down where those who fight grow old and weary,
Screaming aloud but only in hopes that they differentiate my voice from a single drop of ink,
Darker than the skin of my people in who I speak for,
Drying with sudden ease on my paper in which I read through every teardrop,
Painful was the idea in which those who speak up have to ponder their existence,
And if they came from a background which has never disclosed pain from heartache or tyranny,
Disgusted that through all of my words I make great haste in an attempt for you to resonate with my sorrows,
Written with one single stroke of a pen,

This piece was inspired by my realization of my peoples struggles throughout, and the conflict that we face that have been handled through bloodshed and tear because of the feeling of not being heard. I hope this resonates with you and while reading this I hope you can see my pain and struggle.
