The goodness of God is infinitely more wonderful than we will ever be able to comprehend

A Midnight Symphony

The midnight moon whispers softly

As it rises above the clouds who shadow it

The sun curses the night as it falls

But the night sings with joy when it is gone

Little frogs and crickets dance with fireflies

Owls and bats fly around like as in a dream

The wolf commands creatures on the ground and howls

And the thieves, a racoon and rat, steal and loot from others

All while we look out from our homes,

Wondering what sounds the night makes

But we do never dare venture out to discover

The wonderful sounds of a new world

For it is like a symphony of natural sounds

A symphony that can put one to sleep and make them stay asleep

And when we fall into a deep, dark endless chasm of thoughts which we call rest

The nights draws closer to us while we lay

And peacefully says:

Goodnight

The author's comments:

I was inspired to wright this piece because I live in a very secluded, quiet area. When it is night, it is a different story. All different types of animals come out and play and "sing there song." And as someone in a very private and very small school in 7th grade, I am very proud of "A Midnight Symphony."
