The number one,
The number that starts it all,
The number bringing faith,
The number never forgotten,
The eldest child,
The number two,
The second child,
It can be forgotten,
But it brings hope,
The number that can’t be one,
The number that’s never done,
The number five,
Right in the middle of 1 and 10,
The number with almost no value,
Because it can’t be 10,
The number 7,
2 more than 5,
Although 7 is in the center,
It gets less attention than 9,
The number 9 is hurt and filled with sorrow,
It’s the number before 10,
But no one says see you tomorrow.
