Toxic
Expiration dates are volatile
No one pays attention to them
You were bad from the beginning
But I couldn’t see your flies
Your fleshy hand still clings to my shoe like a decaying corpse
Worms crawl through the apple of your mushy heart
A putrid scent lingers everywhere you place your molding hands
Your Bacteria swallows whole the freshest of hearts
You consume everything around you like an infectious fungus
Everything is your meal
Yet food poisoning waits if I take a bite of you
No good to eat
No good to drink
No good to breathe
A carcass is all you are

I am in a creative writing class, and when I created this piece I wanted to make it as descriptive as possible. My spark word was "toxic," and I had to make my poem based on that without stating the word. I decided to write about those people who are truly rotten inside, and all they do is make everyone rotten with them. I am very proud of this piece.
