Growth of Wisdom
I am a boat out at sea
Pushing against the waves
yet still alone
in a vast world unknown to me
I am a shark
Hunting in a party of one
Determined to catch my prey
but nonetheless, still alone
I am a lion
Fighting with my pack
Using my strength along with theirs
To fight through the toughest battle yet
I am a turtle
Moving slowly to take it all in
Using age and wisdom to take me through one last moment
before I am alone once again
I am and I am not
For these moments are gone
But the past remains
And the lessons with them
