Like The Ocean
The smell of the ocean
The smell of salt
tiny grains of sand below your feet
Gleeful, calm, and peaceful
The ocean has its silent caves
When it's deep and quite
The quiet is like when there is nothing to think about at night
But the waves are big and loud, crashing against the shore
The Loud is like when you have so many thoughts going through your head
The ocean is depth,
The depth is like a heart, thoughts, or dreams
The dreams that sometimes never come true or
thoughts that are always forgotten
The kind of dreams that we dream of everyday
Like the childhood dream of becoming a princess
Or superhero
The thoughts that we overthink and dwell on day and night
Am i good enough? Am i doing this right?
The ocean is sleepless
Never going to bed and always making a fuss at night
as the tide towers over our heads
Like when we stay up thinking about the why or what
The waves crash around pushing you all over
Not giving a care in the world
Like when you feel free and able
Nothing could compare to this feeling
Not even the biggest surprise
Like getting that job, or the dream that you had as a child
The ocean is like us in so many ways
We don’t even know
From the waves crashing against the shore
Towering over us
To the deepest part of the sea
Like our thoughts and dreams.
