Shadow of Misery
An oval-shaped shadow appears upon the floor-
Faint, but apparent.
The air around me in my room turns cold,
Oddly cold,
Too cold…
A shiver runs through my numb body.
An unwanted feeling invades my heart;
Leading me towards the stool in front of my feet.
The feeling that cannot be erased corrupts my soul.
Flashbacks of trauma hit me like a bullet.
I wince at the thought as I finally step on the stool.
A final, long breath,
Is the last thing emitted from my mouth,
Before I put the rope around my neck and let myself go.
I was the shortest person among my friends,
But with me hanging,
Who's the short one now?

This is one of my most recent works of writing based on myself. I'm not very skilled in writing poetry that's very "happy-go-lucky", so I usually just write depressing stuff. I aim to write poetry that gives more insight to what it's like to have these feelings.
