The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree
It’s your apples that i eat
Never knowing which is poisoned.
It’s your roses I pick
But your thorns still prick
Because you raised me up sheltered, underground.
You kept your troubles to yourself
Until I was wise enough to solve them.
Then, ripe with the knowledge of your world, i fell
But not so far that you couldn’t reach me.
As I plant my seeds, I am sure of one thing:
I am you
And I hope I never become you.
