Favorite Quote:
Life is tough, but so are you

Sometimes I know the words to say,

To thank you for all you’ve done.

But then the words fly up and away,

As quickly as they come.

How could I possibly thank you enough?

The ones who took me in.

The ones to whom I owe my life,

For loving me as their own kin.

The ones who’ve tucked me in at night,

The ones who’ve held me when I’m crying.

The ones who are the experts

At picking up when I’m lying.

The ones who make such sacrifices,

To always put us kids first.

Who lets me test my broken wings,

In spite of how it hurts.

Are there really any words for this,

I find this question so tough…

Anything I want to say,

Just doesn’t seem enough.

What way is there to thank you,

For your heart, your sweat, your tears?

And for the ten thousand little things you’ve done,

Throughout the last four years?

For changing when I changed,

Accepting all my flaws.

Not loving because you were forced to,

But loving me, just because.

For never giving up on me,

When your wits had reached their end.

For always being kind to me,

And helping me to mend.

And so, now I come to realize,

The only way to say,

The only thank you I can think of,

Is clear in just one way.

When you look at me before you,

To see who I’ll become,

Do you see yourselves in me?

The jobs that you’ve done?

All your hopes and all your dreams,

The strength you’ve given me?

The transfer of the many years,

Your best is passed to me.

Thank you for the gifts you give,

For everything you do.

But thank you, mom and dad, most of all,

For loving me and making my dreams come true.
