It's almost summer
I can nearly feel the touch of summer
Creeping and crawling onto my skin
While these lengthy days dance by
Summer stands at a pause, waiting for her moment
Summer is fiery red, muted yellow, and baby pink
She likes delicate pastel colors
Bright, yet subtle
Summer can flame and roar
And blushes at times
But to me, summer is what gets me through the days
I think about summer in the blistering cold winter
I think about summer at school- all nine months
I think about summer on rainy and cloudy days
And in the spring and fall
I even think about summer while in the current summer
Summer brings my favorite things
Sunburns and tans
Beaches and sand
The river and pool
And of course no school
Late-night swims and late-night drives
Summer brings mystery
Secrets and meetings with laughter and meaning
Summer brings memories
The good and the bad
I love summer no matter what
I can't wait for it to be summertime- so hurry up quick
And it’s almost summer
