Betrayal
Stick your tail back beneath your pants,
And I can see your horns beneath your hat.
You’ve stuck some shoes over your hooves,
But I know better than that.
You’ve covered your wings with a backpack,
And loosened some gloves to hide your claws.
But I won’t be fooled today,
Not like the last time I saw your gaping maw.
You won’t deceive me this time,
Nor beguile, fool, or trick.
I know what lurks beneath your disguise,
A monster’s form, cruel and thick.
