Free Verse Poem: {Did you?}
Remnants of you
Linger in my mind
when everything stops
And stars shine the brightest
But time flies and people grow apart.
So did we.
I did eventually forget how gushy I'd feel
whenever I'd get you to smile,
Yet it wouldn't take much for me to remember
Memories of you, ever so vivid
I keep at the back of my mind
And once in a while
when I'm reminded of you,
These memories seem to remain just as clear
Remnants of you
Still linger in my mind sometimes
But time flies and we forget.
Yet every so often I wonder
did you?

*Version 2 (I'm currently going through the process of editing old poems of mine that I'm not satisfied with and wanted to delete.)
Author's Note: This poem was inspired by a past friend of mine, whom I haven't seen in a really long time (and that I might not ever see again). I'd consider this an attempt of describing how bonds form and how people eventually drift apart as time goes on, up until one reaches the point of realization, being reminded of all that has been.
