The Light That Shines Within

A foreign, mysterious shadow
Of a storm cloud, ominous and gray
Floats in the bare, blue sky
Whether calling a storm
It is yet unforeseen
Violent rain plummeting down
Or hail slashing the rebellious earth
Striking it with painful blows
Beating it like a dead horse
Lightning surging through the sky
Ripping apart the earth
A sign from above
Shattering the yellow glimmer of hope
Unveiled behind the storm cloud
After Apollo’s defeat of Zeus
But one battle through darkness
Reveals the light that shines within
