Bedtime
Stars shine,
While eyes close,
Everyone lies in bed,
Friends and foes.
The moon pops up
As the sun fades away,
The night preparing
For its half of the day.
I jerk away from my telescope,
And tiptoe up the stairs,
My tiptoeing turns to running,
And I jog the stairs by pairs.
I quickly take my shower,
Pulling my fingers through my hair,
I jump out crazily,
Yet drying my face with care.
I put on my bedclothes,
Put my socks on my feet,
And as I sit here in bed I wonder,
Why in the world cant I sleep?
