Learning How to Let Go
Rainy days and white T's
Catching fish in the Summer breeze
Sticky ice cream melts down my hand
Sun bathing in the white-hot sand
Walking with you along the lake's shore
I fell in love, of that I was sure
You fell in love too, I think
As you smiled and gave a wink
Then one day as we sat together
And enjoyed the wonderful weather
You said you'd be leaving at Summer's end
And then I knew, my heart would never mend
The end of Summer snuck up on me
And you said that you were so sorry
Rain came pouring down on my white T
But you were not there to save me
