I am what you see and what I hide—brown hair, green eyes, small hands and feet—mother of four—wife of a quiet man—seeker of God

I am what I was—preacher’s child, artist’s daughter, Cherokee blood. Granddaughter of the Illinois prairie

I am what I am today—busy mom and teacher. Balancer of homework and little people—holding poems in my head and toys in my hand

I am what my core is—daughter of Christ. Lonely walker of his path—seeker for his voice—eyes closed—hands folded—my heart’s whisper

I am what I want to be—a mother who loves her children like God loves us—a Christian who seeks and leads others to You—a wife who loves unconditionally

I am what I am—long laps in the pool—words on paper—quick prayers—organized days—wanderlust—a child in my arms—knees in the garden—sunlight—driving--thinking
