To Sleep in the Rain
I nestle deep into my covers,
 listening to the steady patter
of water droplets on the roof,
and the constant rumble of the thunder
as it gambols among the stars.
I dearly love to sleep in the rain.

But tonight I want one thing more.
I want to nestle deep into your chest,
to mix the pitter of the rain
with the patter of your heart,
to feel the rumble of the thunder
with the rhythm of your breath,
and to drift off in your arms.

I dearly love to sleep in the rain.
