Water
First, I am small
Darting through sky
Plunging and streaking
From clouds hanging high
Wind is my compass
Gravity is my guide
When I’m small, I fall gentle
When I’m large, creatures hide
I can be a drop
That gives life to the Earth
Aiding the thirsty
And vegetation rebirth
I can be a single needle
Hurtling through space
Encouraged by gales
To prick a soft face
Whatever does happen,
Down I will fall
Abandoned by wind,
I rush and I crawl
I gather together
And find my own way
Forming swift streams
To whisk me away
When the weather is frigid
I am frozen; alone
I become stiff,
Still as a stone
When left for a while
The sun finds my place
Slowly it heats me
Until it leaves not a trace
Now even smaller,
I am part of the air
I shimmer and waver
And drift here and there
Eventually I gather
With things such as I,
We form the light clouds
That first showed me the sky
