You’re haunting me
Stalking me,
Like an apparition in my shadow,
You’re a ghost

I see you in my dreams
Pitched against a dark background.
Whenever I close my eyes
I can’t pretend I don’t see you
No matter how hard I try.
I can’t leave you behind
To bear the burden of my sins,
Take my hand and let me carry you
To the stars you dreamed of
And looked up to at night.
I feel your beating heart
With every step I take,
Walking further into hell
The things I do,
In your name.
Like the tears of a crying angel
I feel the rain splashing on my face.
Like the sacrifice of an angel
Long gone to waste.
