Let the ballon go
at the crack of dawn
let it fly away
into the rising sun

Let the balloon go
let it kiss the clouds
let it soar free
on each evening

Let the balloon go
let it stretch towards the stars
let it free
to do as it pleases

Let the balloon go
let the wind takes its wheel
let it blow through the Universe
to just live for a second

Let the balloon go
let it land in the waves
the waves that sing lullabies
and tuck it in under its covers

Let the balloon go
even though its my heart
even though I'll cry
I'll let the balloon go

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this poem because at the time I was sad. I was frustrated and connfused and couldn't find my place in the world. The balloon represents me and all those people whho are like me in that aspect. I wanted to explore the world and see what it has to offer and discover my place. The balloon wants to see the world and find what he likes to do. The person holding onto the balloon throughout this whole thng represents the other half of me that tells me what to do. Even though I wanted to be released into the arms of the world I know that it is dangerous out there and I might not be ready yet for what it has to offer. I wrote this poem to find out what to do.
