Another day.
Can’t say the words I wanted to say.
Still feel the same pain
That chews at my heart.
Still cry the same tears
For when we’re apart.
But something’s different.
Not quite right.
Because something went wrong the other night.
Too many drinks,
But you sped on ahead.
Not even thinking about the words
That should have been said.
Speed around the corner,
Wishing to be free…
So you slammed right into
That old oak tree.
Now machines and tubes try
To keep you alive.
But I know that you’re gone.
Flying through that kingdom
High in the sky.
The saddest thing is,
I never got to say “I love you.”
And you never said
“Good-bye.”

The author's comments:
I wrote this for mostly my mom's side of the family, because most of them are drinkers that always leave drunk. This really expresses my fear of what's going to happen to them someday.
