Snowflakes and Snow Fairies
Snowflakes and snow fairies,
Take me north with you,
Fly me through the heavens,
Let the wind carry me away.

We can swivel and sway,
Through the air bubbles above,
We can break them apart,
And dance all night long.

Children will love us,
While parents detest us,
But we won’t mind at all,
For we are free from all bellow.

Wave hello to the stars,
Kiss the sun goodnight,
Snowflakes and snow fairies,
Take me north with you.

I am ready for the flight,
I have waited for so long,
Now take me with the night,
Never let me go.

The author's comments:
After seeing such a beautiful sight (a snow storm) I wrote Snowflakes and Snow Fairies. My inspiration, of course, was the moment when the snow was picked up by the wind. What really made the moment so special is the fact that the wind was powerful enough to pick it all up and set the snowflakes free. I felt a great connection to the snow for wanting to be taken away, as well as a sudden rush of envy seeing the way the wind could just take the snow and forget me. Snowflakes and Snow Fairies is about wanting to escape, to be free from the brutal life one may live in and to set out to find a better place.
