Waking to the sweet chirp of birds outside my window,
I knew today was time for change.
Sun beams tentatively tickle my dreams
before the blinding brightness reflects off the white below.
Yes, I believe today’s the day.
My skin, glowing warm, tingles with
The icy freshness – rejuvenated after this
Lifelessness. Once listless, my fingers
Now tense with excitement.
Yes, I believe today’s the day.
I spur into motion - feet dancing,
Heart singing tuneless melodies into the deserted meadow
A book in hand, or a pencil maybe
I remember…
I wish today was that day.

I agree with elizabethlaura, your imagery is really strong. You are definitely a fantastic writer, you seem to have a natural instinct for tying words together in a truly beautiful way.
