You never loved me
The sun across my skin,
Reveals the damage done.
It’s written across my face,
I’d give anything to leave this place.
One time too many
I’ve been abandoned, broken and bruised.
Some fresh air would be nice,
I can’t make this same mistake twice.
I’ve given more then I got,
And the price I’ll have to pay.
I’ve got to find the long rode out
Leave behind all hope, and all doubt.
I’ll take in the stars,
As they watch the nights pass.
I’ll carry this heart on my sleeve,
We both know you could never love me.
