Sunshine's Kiss
Golden beams of light
Cloak the world in warmth
Every tiny bud opens
For the light
To let the warmth surround it
I step into the sunlight
And I feel I must close my eyes
Trying to take in all the glory
Of the sun and its perfect Maker
Its gentle warmth surrounds me
It's an embrace from God Himself
And in that golden beam of light
I feel His love for me
God whispers hope into my ear
And says He'll never leave
He says, "I love you more than light.
More than the flowers or the trees.
And when you stand there in the sun
That's what I want you to think."
The time comes when I must go
Back to the dismal dusk of this world
I cannot stand in the sun forever
I must take its hope into the darkest corners
But every time the sun is up
And I feel it touch my face
Its warmth a gentle kiss from God
And I'm reminded of His love towards me
The abounding grace He gives
I close my eyes and smile at Him
Trying to take in all His glory
The glory of His light.
