A Beautiful Curse
A long time ago, she sat on a perfect gold throne
The most beautiful girl in the world
With no home to call her own
Beauty from her head down to her toes
Eyes as deep and blue as the sea
She had lips the color of a rose

 Eyelashes like black lace,
 Skin soft like satin,
 Feathery hair framed her face

In the finest jewels and exquisite gown,
 She sat silently, lonely
Finery and perfection masked her frown

 She never aged,
 Was never free
 But always caged.
 She sat atop the universe,
 Waiting, watching, wanting
 Beauty was the curse.
