The short, clear, nylon bristles only make it
more of a problem
My brown tresses only get stuck in them
I try to pull away, but this only
causes the strands to hurt
reminding me of the emotional pain
I've been through
I'll never be able to manage it
All the hairspray in the world
will only last for so long
Never will I be able to tame my emotions, let alone my hair
I pull on the pink plastic handle
It finally releases, letting go of the crazy curls
Untangled for now
but for me
love has always been a mess

My creative writing teacher told us we had to choose an object and write about it, I chose a hairbrush.
