I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself
A bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
Without ever feeling sorry for itself

The forest is a quiet retreat,
I walk along the worn paths
And take in the simple lives around me.
The wind blows through the trees,
Making a sweet music
That is soft on the ears
And good for the heart.
The fall leaves are like small bright fireworks
Thrown against the sapphire sky.
I stare at the great mysteries around me
With wonder like a child.

I love the forest. It's very calming to me, and that's what led
me to write this. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!
