Low To The Ground
Low to the ground
 Becoming one with Mother Earth

 Slowly advancing
 Stealthily
 Slyly

 Quiet as the corpses
 Blending sounds of advancement
With the swaying of the tall grass

 Within reach
 Yet so far away

 Must be patient
 Not too eager

 Seeking
 Waiting, forever waiting
 For the opportune moment

 Baring teeth
 Preparing for the charge
Hair reaching for the always-blazing sun above

 Breathing slows
 Heartbeat thuds in ears
 Hunger temporarily dissipates
 Salivating with excitement
 Anticipation racing through blood

 And there it is
 The opportune moment

 My prey has arrived
