The Light
An empty heart struggling to beat in my chest
A mind quickly returning to the thoughts of old habits
Cold blood running through my veins
 Never for long though
When it drops slowly on the pure white snow

I repeat the same process constantly
Picking up the same little pieces off the ground
Forcing them together so I seem whole
I never thought I would see the sun again
Doomed to always faking a smile

 Then I met you
 The clouds cleared
A weight was lifted off of my shoulders
 For once I didn’t fake a smile
When I took a breath it didn’t hurt

 You hold me
But not like I’m broken but like someone that is capable of being fixed
I look into your eyes and I know that right here with you is where I belong
You’re the light in my world that I’ve been waiting for
 The wait is finally over
