shattered
I walk through the heavy oak door,
huge sunglasses hide the traces of tears,
I can't believe it ended like this,
illusions shattered,
i can't pretend
and I don't want to take another breath,
I walk up the stairs,
my room is a mess,
I want to scream,
and then I step onto the scale,
the needle wavers at ninety,
and then I exhale,
practice a smile,
one thing I can still control.
