"The whole world looked drunk, and I liked it that way." - Rebeca Godfrey, book title"The Torn skirt"

I dance in twilight
the first blinking stars
twinkle through the smokey sky
dancing the elegance of a dying swan
I stumble to the fountain
lit by sorrowful moonbeams
my breath caught short and hollow
such a heaviness of agony held in mine breast
I lay there looking up upon the stone angels carved in the moons fountain
the diamond water trickles down their cold faces
Do they weep for me?
the stone angel reaches its hand
Do i dare grab upon a being so glorious?
I reach with all my might
Alas, my breath stops , my skin grows cold
darkness caresses me
the monstrous faces of demons reach my eternal slumber
the twinkling stars become the crimson eyes of a raven
the moons fountain is enveloped by vermilion creatures that hold me with shackles
where ever the angels lay softly
I know they weep for me

My favorite line is "Do I dare grab upon a being so glorious?"

I must have been a vivid dream, and I'm sorry for you're loss, but this is a truly inspired poem.
