Metastasized Narcissism
Attention can be contagious
But only if swallowed
Side effects may be mild
But mainly consist of candid responses and random acts of narcissism.
The sicker one gets the larger their required dosage;
The placebo effect may take place at any time.
(Although an illicit action, supplements may be found online)
The body thrives off of attention;
In its last moments one may find the attention
Itching, begging for more
The heart pounding with its fists of rage
Saying, “help me, nurture me, just please- love me!”
The skin dying for that last final moisture
The organs swirling around, shrieking
“Look what I can do!”
The breath withering away, hoping somebody will notice
And in that last final moment, when the body check’s out and
Hands in its keys, a little white angel filled with gumdrops
And blueberries and all that jazz will come up from depths of hell and say,
“Would you like your eternity in crème or lavender?” and
your attention will suddenly drop out of you like someone
spitting off of the statue of liberty
It will drop onto someone else’s face and the vicious cycle will start all over again.
