"Never doubt that a small group of people can change the world, indeed; it is the only thing that ever has." --Margaret Mead

Drifting oh so slowly,
I watch the world pass by;
Right in front of you I sail,
passing unrecognized.

Deep waters lie ahead,
welcoming me in their arms;
The tide is so inviting,
while it cloaks the lonely harm.

Waves are forceful,
my chance of approaching land is slim,
sanity and safety are far more than distant.

Generously submerged in this shade of blue,
the ocean tears me up inside,
feeling nothing more than amused.

The battle is carelessly won,
held captive by the waves,
no life boat; buoy; chance of being saved.

Blanketed by the water I come to realize
the ocean hasn't the ability to lose,
to care,
to die.

Sinking was my choice,
I chose it well,
my eyes closed and my lungs fell.
