Write Like a Poet
I can’t write a poem to satisfy a soul
Or feed a hungry mind all it wants to learn
I can’t write like everyone else
Flowing imagination, creating a dream
Coherent to all, and not only to me
I can’t write like you, or him, or her
My words have no meanings
Nothing to remember
They just flow out of me
Aspirations in the wind, on a page
I can’t write like I’m told to
No instruction will help
Organize my thoughts, spread
The words I want to scream
I can’t write like a poet
The type I hope to be
I can’t write like I’m told to
I can only write like me.
