I whisper words
Silence shattered
Your ears swim in each syllable’s resonance
Listening intently
To cup each word spoken
Undisturbed, unperturbed
in your memory

Oh so gently you place
A strand of hair behind my ear
Laughter erupting from
My visceral senses
In the sense of gratitude
For the paramount magnitude
Of the bonds we share

Seizing the moment
Like it has never been seized
As we draw closer,
Hearts beating rapidly

Checkered picnic patterns and blades of grass
The air of nostalgic nothings
We sit in each other’s warmth
Waiting for the sun to fall
Beneath the distant seas

You whisper words
Silence shattered
My thoughts swim away
Distracted yet bursting with bliss

What comes next is not a kiss
Rather a growing blossom
Or a deepening ocean
A continuum, a spectrum
Of bright lights and glimmer

We are two varied souls
Basking in the glow
Of the whispered wishes
That each of us possess
