Winter Heart
Your soft white depths
Beckon to me,
Your down covered boughs
Whisper to me,
Your untouched paths
Lead me,
Deep into your cold heart.
Hidden in your picturesque solitude
I find refuge in your sanctitude.
I wish to find
You, defined
But all I find is your frozen heart
And time is too short
As the light grows dim,
As the sun sinks to the rim,
I must leave your soft embrace
And wait in the grace
Of knowing,
I will see you again.
