It comes and goes
One here, one gone
They arrive, they depart
Some dents bigger than others.
The cycle is repetitive,
If not tedious.
Occurrences are regular.
Used so much it’s worn down
Bit, chewed, swallowed,
Until all that’s left is the aftertaste.

beautiful. i love the image you metaphorically create. it takes a real poet to understand how to do that. great job!!

I like this alot... Specifically how you can apply it to different things, instead of it being set on one specific time, place, person, food, etc. Good job!

What are you referring to here? As a poet, I have to assume that your work has a more figurative focus than merely food.

Are you referring to thoughts? Relationships? The days of your life?

A good poem causes the reader to sit and muse about its meaning. That's what I'm doing here.
