The Ultimate War
Dawn emerges
shining light
on such a "pretty sight"
with little regard for the lonesome battlefield
an unsheathed sword, yet a quasi-iron shield
until...i tunnel through endless, splendid-less wars
raging with a force, a lack of remorse
no ease on casaulties
complacencies unnoticed,
rather yet, nonexistent
the fabric of my sanity lies in tatters
torn down with self-mockery and tears that fail to fall
yet a puddle settles in my veins
crying out for an overdue reflection,
a resurrection of mind over matter
when all that really matters
is pleasing your own heart's desire
shadow my little voices of doubt
solitary and self-reliance
built up in my spiritual core
as a visible confidence expresses a glow
that suppresses the rising dawn to shame
it's just me, myself, and i
along with i, myself, and me
cinderella complex never a method utilitized
never again will the tight-knotted heart militarize
because the ultimate war has won
the peasants cheer, a candid revere
for the one-woman show i call MY life
