Girls abandon lovers like dead cigarettes
hurtling toward naked concrete sidewalks
depleted bodies consumed hastily
heads sizzling
an inferno of unshaven desires
never finished

Blood dripping from broken hearts
showering gutters with unrequited love
faceless chain-smokers stumble past
the putrid smoke rises

The author's comments:
Melbourne, Australia. The corner of the two busiest streets in the city, and yet how empty it seems.
As i sit in the tram, gazing out the window, i can't help but wonder what this world would be if instead of smoking cigarettes, we faced our problems.

Whoa. This is incredible. I'm in awe. I don't really think I can comment this is too exceptional. Great work!

No mediocre words of apreciation or praise would do this poem justice. This is so amazing.

Such amazing imagery. It's so short, yet every single word is incredible
