I look without seeing,
I hear without listening.
I lick without tasting,
I sniff without smelling.

I touch without feeling,
I talk without words.
I sleep without dreaming,
I smile without happiness.

I inhale without breathing,
I play without participating.
I read without understanding,
I invite without intent.

I move without walking,
I’m still without sitting.
I’m calm without relaxation,
I exist without living.

this is really good to. Its like your there, you want to fit in, you smile in all the right places; and truly believe that you can't possibly fit in.

This is amazing! It really tugged on my heartstrings. It reminds me of a time in my life when I was really struggling too, and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this as well. The raw emotion in all of your work is very admirable. Keep writing, 'cause you rock at it! :)

this is one of the few poems of mine that the reader can actually take literally. i wrote this during a hard period in my life when at the time, i believed every word written here.
