The Sooner It's Over
She couldn't take it anymore. Thoughts of suicide
flooding her mind.
She walked into the bedroom.
A shiny 22 waits under the bed.
The sooner it's over,
the better.
One little choice.
It seemed so simple at the time.
Like the only way out.
Her parents would have freaked and her boyfriend would leave
if they knew.
"It was the only way."
She kept telling herself.
"It's the only thing to do."
But now she has to deal with a guilty conscience.
She thought she was playing safe,
but sometimes things don't turn out the way you expect.
And now she's all alone.
The boy she loved left.
Her faithful parents
abandoned their only daughter
in her time of need.
She had nothing left to live for.
She couldn't take it anymore. Thoughts of suicide flooding her mind.
She walked into the bedroom,
a shiny 22 waits under the bed.
She thinks to herself, "The sooner it's over,
the better."
"What will be my choice?"
