Purple nails drum the desk
Eyes glazed and pained.
Pretty face
No expression
Lost in the crowd
Heart broken
Dead inside
Beautiful girl
Beautiful soul
Look through the sorrow
Her blue eyes shine
Brains and beauty
Silent and solemn
She stands on guard
Blue eyes reveal nothing
Scars race up her arms
Tears swell up in her eyes
Show no emotion
Feel no pain
She whispers
She swallows her fear
Putting on her mask

The author's comments:
She is no one, yet everyone. We all wear masks. We all hide. We all believe someone will try to look behind it, but they won't. We have to take off our masks ourselves and find someone who takes us for who we are, no matter how easy it is to hide.
