Deafness
I have walked these halls for four years.
Now I can’t even look in the mirrors.
The ones that look back at me with eyes,
Because I didn’t stop their cries.
I brush past them few times a year,
But it may have been me who stopped the tears.
They needed someone who hadn’t left,
As I pretended like I was deaf.
 I turned them away,
 I didn’t have time,
Besides you are not my kind.
Now I can see the mistake I have made,
And I try to deny the truth that hurts
But we both know what I could’ve done,
To stop the boy who pulled the gun.
