Apple Tree
I love you
You’re all I have
The branch I held on to when I fell from the tree
The tree where everyone else was sitting
They still sit there and laugh at me when I pick the apples that have fallen to the earth
Its all I can do now.
You helped me pick the apples
I first noticed you when you wiped it on your shirt and gave it to me
Your eyes were dark and hungry like globes
I depend on you like a camel on the sand
Don’t leave me ever;
You have become my food and sunlight
It frightens me that I am no longer one on my own
I have become a parasite living only off someone else
I feed of your smiles
Your laughs
Your eye is my sun.
